Open Educational Resources OER

OER badge

Our OER certificate program consists of a three-module self paced workshop; each 4-week module takes 6-10 hours to complete and is a combination of instructional activities, collaborative discussions, and individual application.  The Open Educational Resources program teaches faculty how to search and evaluate OER resources to replace costly textbooks with open books or other free sources. Faculty also learn about Copyright and Creative Commons (CC) licensing and application practices, the different types of Affordable Learning Solutions (AL$) offered by the university, and how to create, license and publish OER.
