Open Educational Resources OER

This certificate program is part of Cal State Fullerton's faculty professional development. The purpose of the course is to help teachers replace costly textbooks with free resources when possible. The program educates faculty on how to identify, search and evaluate OER resources; Copyright and Creative Commons (CC) licensing; different types of Affordable Learning Solutions (AL$) offered by our university; and application practices. In the implementation phase, the participants will learn how to adopt, adapt, and create OER and how to license and publish learning objects. The program consists of three self-paced-modules that are opened for 4-weeks each and requires an investment of 5-8 hours per module to complete. Each section has a combination of instructional activities, collaborative discussions, and individual application.
